Product Review: Otterbox Defender Case for Samsung Galaxy Tab

Since the emergence of the iPad, the tablet market has become relevant. While older tablets ran on watered down versions of computer operating systems, this new generation of popular tablets seem to be running on either smartphone operating systems such as iOS, Android and WebOS (upcoming HP/Palm tablet) or full Windows 7 (such as the HP Slate or upcoming Asus Eee Pad). The portability of tablets make it a viable option to carry, moreso than laptops as these operating systems have many applications and tools ideals for both personal and corporate use. Also, given the power and coverage of mobile internet on 3G and 4G, tablets are truly the ultimate device for somebody who is constantly on the go.

This particular 7″ tablet by Samsung is running the Android 2.2 operating system with Samsung’s popular TouchWiz UI. It features high end hardware, similar to what is found on their Galaxy S series of phones (which in the US includes the Captivate, Vibrant, Fascinate, Epic and Mesmerize) meaning it boasts the powerful 1GHz Hummingbird processor (which based on many benchmarks is one of the fastest, if not the fastest, single core processor on the market), 512MB of RAM and is available with the options of 16GB or 32GB internal storage plus a Micro SD slot expandable up to 32GB more. Unlike the iPad, this tablet also includes a 3MP rear camera for pictures and videos and a 1.3MP front facing camera for video calls and self-portraits and is capable of making phone calls (either through speakerphone or Bluetooth). Online Fax Service Grows Up

Fax technology went (partially) high-tech some years ago, so some companies still operate dedicated in-house fax servers. Generally, though, this technology is aging and only meets expectations in a few ways, like convenience and savings on ink/toner and paper. They fail on other important measures, like maintenance and overhead. The fact is, managing a fax server and its diverse complexities takes important IT resources from your firm’s more important duties.

The move to faxing via servers did solve some issues with standalone fax machines, as mentioned above. Finally, there was no more worrying about ink or toner, no more loading paper and clearing paper jams, no more muss and fuss. Getting away from the standalone, phone-connected fax reduced capital expenses and maintenance costs, certainly, but simply moving fax services to another kind of hardware only went part way to a real solution. CALL OF DUTY BLACK OPS WII | A Great Addition to the Franchise

Black Ops Wii: The popular game franchise, Call of Duty, has released their newest installment for the Wii gaming system, CALL OF DUTY BLACK OPS WII. This is the seventh game in the Call of Duty franchise, and it is the fourth Call of Duty game made for the Wii. Call of Duty Black Ops is set during the Cold War and Vietnam conflict. This game is set in a different time from all other Call of Duty games, making it a unique experience.

I find the graphics superb with smooth texture and lines. The frame rate seems to run decently as well. The customization options are unique and fun. Upgrading weapons has become less of a chore, because any gun can be bought at the start.

In CALL OF DUTY BLACK OPS WII , there is no more waiting for a certain number of kills before the guns are unlocked. Plus, players can select their own perks. The CALL OF DUTY BLACK OPS WII artificial intelligence in the game sometimes felt like it was lacking. There were many situations that occurred that made the opposition in single-player mode just feel stupid. There is a 16GB and 32GB version of the Tab, and it works great in its 7-inch touch screen. Tablets stand out by the design of their screens and the Tab’s screen comes out as a sturdy beauty. A Corning Gorilla glass layer protects the 1,024×600-pixel resolution LCD underneath that provides a higher pixel density. Although the Tab can be compared to the iPad, its features, including Adobe Flash capability, gives it a striking difference from any other tablet on the market right now. The Samsung Galaxy Tab has a front-facing 1.3 MP camera above the screen that provides perfect video conferencing through the Qik app. Self-portraits are also of high quality and are immediately scanned and accessible via the appropriate app. If you are using the Tab as an e-reader, you have plenty to celebrate. You can install e-book software from Barnes & Noble through the Android Market or access the Amazon e-book retail store through the preinstalled Kindle app. However, the Tab is considerably heavier than most e-readers and its battery life is considerably low.
